Borough of Riverdale Hosting Shredding and Collection Day
Posted October 07, 2022The Borough of Riverdale is hosting a Paper Shredding and Collection Day on Saturday November 5, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Riverdale Senior Community Center, 57 Loy Avenue, Riverdale, N.J. 07457. The following materials will be collected on site:
Paper Shredding:
Residents can bring any amount of paper and documents to be securely shredded on-site.
What exactly is accepted?: Paper (staples, paper clips, and binder clips are OK), Envelopes and envelopes with windows, old check books, old credit cards, manila and hanging folders.
Not accepted: Cardboard, carbon paper, plastic sheet protectors, plastic.
Styrofoam:
White, clean Styrofoam from packaging, coolers, or insulation. Unfortunately, food trays, take-out containers, egg cartons, packing peanuts, or colored Styrofoam cannot be accepted.
Electronics:
Cell phones, land-line phones, tablets, laptops, tower computers, keyboards, mice, external hard drives, modems, printers, copiers, fax machines, electric typewriters, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, camcorders, stereos and radios, as well as CDs. Unfortunately, projection TV’s, vacuum cleaners, and appliances cannot be accepted.
If you can’t make it on Saturday, November 5, the Borough of Riverdale DPW Garage accepts old electronics by calling first at 973‐835‐6077.
Used ink cartridges:
Any type of used ink cartridge.
If you can’t make it on Saturday, November 5, you may drop these off at Staples.
Rechargeable batteries:
Any brand of rechargeable battery.
If you can’t make it on Saturday, November 5, you may drop these off at the Home Depot.
Plastic bags:
All #4 plastic bags, including plastic grocery bags and produce bags, shipping bags with a #4 recycling label.
Jackets:
All used coats and jackets will be accepted.
